Namecheap foulplay?
I bought a domain today, well I thought I did. 25 minutes later the domain was still not in my account even though I received confirmation that the domain was purchased.
In the process I was asked for the domain name, my account name and PASSWORD. Support staff are NOT suppose to ask for you password with issues like this?
To make matters worst, the lady at the support staff told me it would be FIVE DAYS before my account would be refunded…
NameCheapLady.: Hello, how can I help you?
ME: I just bought a domain and it isnt appearing in my account
NameCheapLady.: what’s the domain name?
ME:.co.u
ME: *.co.uk
NameCheapLady.: could you please also give me your username and password?
ME: what? i dont think i should be giving you my password
ME: Isnt the account name and domain name enough!? You shouldnt be asking for passwords!
NameCheapLady.: ok, please hold on
NameCheapLady.: what’s the login?
ME:
NameCheapLady.: Please hold on, I’m checking
NameCheapLady.: The purchase of domain didn’t come through. your money will be refunded within 5 days
NameCheapLady.: We want to apologize to you for all troubles and inconveniences you have at the moment
I decided against register the domain and I’ll wait a few hours and see if it indeed gets registered!

I once got a refund on a domain registered at Namecheap and they too asked me for my username and password. It’s pretty poor practice if you ask me, but they refunded me right away.
I hope your situation gets resolved. Best of luck.
should have used GoDaddy
They are even worst!
Thanks i got a refund too!
