My take on ecommerce.
There was a memorable line from the movie “Field of Dreams” that promised: “If you build it, they will come.” In the world of ecommerce it could be: “If you build it with superior security, they will come. And they will come back time after time.” People like shopping on the internet and they like using their credit cards to pay for goods and services. This does not, however, mean they are reckless when it comes to their card information. They see the same horror stories about credit card fraud that you do, and they are not about to be fast and loose with their own finances and credit rating. So any online credit card processing company you might consider needs to bring an unblemished record for safety and security. And this usually is found among the more established merchant accounts providers. Their best practices will allow you to “build it” securely. And they will come.
